FOR THE ROAD
We tapped 2 of our co-owners, Helen Johannesen and Vinny Dotolo to share with us their go-to items for a road trip.
Helen — “Last time I went to Montecito I grabbed a turkey sandwich, fresh fruit and some frozen chicken pot pies as a gift for my friend (her fave!). We also drove to the desert with a giant tin of the Bonilla a La Vista Potato Chips, some Espinaler Olives, d'Affinois, a baby, a toddler and ate the whole thing.”
Vinny — “For a trip to Ojai I grab Uglies Salt & Vinegar Chips, a Bon Bee Honey Bar, Kolsvart Candy Fish (ideally the raspberry flavor), and Hummingbird Sunrise Paleo Blend trail mix.”
*all “travel items” available at all locations except Ines Rosales Sweet Olive Tortas are only available at Larchmont
Farmers Market Report
In addition to our golden, velvety apricots from K & K Ranch, we also just brought in pluots from Fruit Fairy — picked at peak ripeness, so they’re extra fragrant. These hybrids (part plum, part apricot) have that perfect snap, the flesh stays tender and jammy, so it’s ideal for snacking, baking, or slicing over a bowl of yogurt.
Salt & Straw Ice Cream Social
