Farmers market report

All the seasonal ingredients in our stone fruit salad are thoughtfully sourced and available across our locations.
peaches, nectarines, and plums come from Ken’s Top Notch, a family-run farm boasting 250 acres of certified organic orchards in California’s Central Valley, known for their exceptional freshness and hand-grown quality.
heirloom and cherry tomatoes are from Sunrise Organic Farm in Santa Barbara County, where they nurture over 270 heirloom and specialty vegetables — blending small-farm care with large-scale distribution.
crisp cucumbers are from Carranza Family Farm, a proud third-generation operation cultivating 15 acres of organic seasonal fruits, salad greens, and flowers at the historic McGrath Ranch.

Stone fruit, your way
A few simple ideas for pairing peak-season fruit with market ingredients to make the most of summer.

Grilled with burrata: halve and grill peaches or nectarines, serve with creamy di Stefano Burrata, a splash of Inez Olive Oil, and Maldon flaky sea salt.
Capreseish salad: swap tomatoes for sliced peaches or plums, pair it with fresh di Stefano mozzarella, Kenter Canyon Italian basil, and a drizzle of Gran Deposito Aceto Balsamico by Giuseppe Giusti.
Salsa: dice plums with jalapeño, red onion, tamai cilantro, and lime, great on grilled fish or chicken.

It’s the summer of spritzes
Americano Spritz: a lighter, lower-ABV cousin of the Negroni, it’s slightly more bitter, bubbly, and citrus-forward.
Hugo Spritz: originating in northern Italy, this refreshing cocktail is delicately floral, made with elderflower liqueur, sparkling wine, and fresh mint.
Both available at the Cafe on Larchmont.

In our freezer, you’ll find an assortment of ice creams from three of our favorite makers. McConnell’s, a Santa Barbara classic since 1949, makes rich, ultra-creamy scoops using grass-grazed milk and real ingredients. AWAN and Sabai both craft rich, dairy-free ice creams, with AWAN highlighting bold Southeast Asian flavors and Sabai focusing on Thai dessert–inspired scoops. Available at all locations.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Independence Day and we look forward to seeing you at the market.
